There are two very early printings of this poster.  One poster, with a print run of 2,000 posters, was printed prior to the shows.  The second print run, with a print run of 1,000 posters, was printed shortly after the concert.  The two posters are distinguishable, as we will detail, but it is not known which poster is from the pre-show run, and which is from the post-show run.  Both posters were printed on vellum paper stock by the Bindweed Press, San Francisco, and both posters measure approx.  14 1/8" x 20".

One of these early posters (we will call it Type A) has a "Family Dog 1966 Mouse Studios" credit in the bottom margin that appears to be bluish/lavender in color.  We also have a few FD 30 Type A posters that are in less than NM condition (but still very nice) that we can offer at a lower price.  If you are interested in one of these posters, please send us an email or give us a call.

The other early poster (we will call it Type B) has a "Family Dog 1966 Mouse Studios" credit in the bottom margin that appears to be black (or near black) in color.  We also have a few FD 30 Type B posters that are in less than NM condition (but still very nice) that we can offer at a lower price.  If you are interested in one of these posters, please send us an email or give us a call.

The third print poster was printed on a regular index paper stock, and bears the notation "No.  30-3" in the lower left corner.  It was most probably printed in 1967.  It has the same measurements as both of the posters from the early print runs.

The original handbill was printed prior to the shows on thin paper stock, and measures 8 1/2" x 11".

It is worth noting that the 1st Anniversary of The Family Dog coincided with the Sunday, Oct.  16 show.  Just above the central image of Gloria Swanson, the poster reads "The Dog Will Be One Year Old This Sunday". This was not the first anniversary of the FD 1 shows (that anniversary fell during the FD 48 shows), but it was the first anniversary of the very first FD show (A Tribute to Dr.  Strange). The "Dr.  Strange" shows were promoted by the Family Dog, but before Chet Helms was running the show.  The "numbered" Family Dog shows begin when Chet took the "helm" (sorry, couldn't resist).
