"PLAINS OF QUICKSILVER"

This is certainly one of the classic images of the psychedelic era.  A very cool/colorful sixties image that features two colorized photos of Quicksilver Messenger Service (the bottom one being upside down).

The original/first print poster was printed on very thick/sturdy paper stock, which matches the paper stock that was used to print the original postcard.  They were most certainly printed on the same proofsheet, prior to the shows.  In addition, the orange ink that was used to print this poster is a pure orange (this also matched the original card).

The second print poster was printed on a much thinner paper stock than the first print poster, making it somewhat "flimsier".  In addition, the orange ink that was used to print the second print poster contains much more yellow
than the orange ink used for the first print.  I would actually call it yellow/orange, not orange.  As is the case with the first print poster, the second print poster contains the notation "No.  53-1" in the lower right corner, however it is NOT an original/first print poster.

There are two variations to the original postcard that were printed prior to the shows.  One has a place stamp here back, the other a bulk rate back.  If you buy a FD 53 postcard from the website, we will ship you a place stamp
here backed card.  If you are interested in a card with a bulk rate back, please send us an email or give us a call.
